SteelDust In Cahoots
"Hootie" is staying here at SteelDust. A little heart-throb since Day 1, we reluctantly decided make Hootie available *if* we found just the right home for him when he was a pup. We confess, we are thrilled we didn't! Hootie is both class clown and star student. He is a total sweetheart who will do back-flips to earn praise. He spends most of his time "horseshoe-shaped" with his little booty wagging and a toy in his mouth, and he is absolutely GORGEOUS when he strikes a pose! |
SteelDust Slick Nickel
("Nickel")
"...I wanted you to see this picture of him. He is the best dog I have ever owned.
His natural instinct to herd and take care of things is incredible."
SteelDust Remington Steele
Words from Julie about "Remi:" "I cannot say enough about this dog!! He is so smart, loves agility. He does tons of tricks. He picks up things off the floor and hands them to my disabled husband []. Everyone loves him, and everywhere I go I am told how beautiful he is. He isn't hyper at all!! He is great with children, other dogs, and old people. You did such a great job starting him for me!! He is the most perfect dog ever. My husband loves him, and tells him how much he loves him, and how he is the best dog in the world! He is spoiled rotten. He sleeps with us and never leaves my side. I take him everywhere I go. He even goes in the market, since he is a service dog. He flies with us on the airplane to Mexico and the [] pilots and stewardesses know him. He understands everything I tell him, even sign language. He has the best temperament of any dog I have ever known." |
"Remi" is soaking up the sun with Julie & Bob in California. Remi is a registered Service Dog, and is training for Agility!

SteelDusts Silver Fox
"Foxy" is training to become Cindy's new agility partner. We are so excited to see all of Foxy's successes with Cindy as her mom & teacher! Thanks to Cindy and Blaine for loving this special girl! From Cindy (Summer 2012): "Foxy will be 13 weeks old tomorrow, Friday. She went for a meet and greet and a weigh in at her Veterinarians office last Saturday and is scheduled for her first appointment tomorrow morning. She weighed in at 14 lbs. I'm sure she has gained weight since then. If all of your puppies have the same attitude with life as Foxy does your puppy owners must be as pleased as we are. Foxy loves life and everyone she meets. Her clicker training is coming along really well. Her focus is perfect during her training sessions. [] Thank you so much for such a lovely little girl." From Cindy (Summer 2013): "Foxy is really good with all people and other dogs. She loves meeting everybody and does well by sitting for a greeting. Sometimes when she is super excited she will forget her manners and gently put her front paws up but that must be an Aussie thing. All of the Aussies that come to daycare or board over night with me will do the same thing but not so politely. I'm super happy with the way Foxy's training is coming along. She is a natural with clicker training. She will have a stubborn streak once in a while but that's to be expected. She is doing great with all of the agility equipment. She has a tendency to miss her contact on the teeter because of her speed but we're working on my body language for that. She does this bounce when she gets to the last weave pole as though she is proud of herself. [] Usually at the beginning of her class she will do a couple of obstacles for me then go for a tear around the ring, once she has that out of her system she is on for the rest of the class. She's a speed demon. Her distance work is coming along too. She doesn't seem to care how far away I am. I can layer equipment just fine. I'm going to be taking Foxy to a more advanced obedience class in prep for her CGN. [] I'm teaching a semi-private class with an Italian Mastiff who has happy impulse issues with greeting other dogs down at the public park in our city and Foxy is with me during that class to show [him] how to greet nicely. [] I hope you fine the right homes for your new litter. I'm sure they will be as happy with their new puppy as we are with Foxy. I'll put the word out here in our agility community that you have puppies. I will take some videos of Foxy in agility class and forward them to you so you can see her in action. We both are having a blast. Thank you so much for such a bright wonderful puppy. It sounds like you really love what you do with raising Aussies. Feel free to use anything I have said for your website. I spoke with a few Aussie breeders in our area and just didn't get the same feeling about them as I did with you. That is why we traveled the distance we did to get Foxy. I also wanted to mention to you that I have a 14 year old girl volunteering for me and she has severe anxiety issues. [] She works with Foxy doing her obedience cues and agility lessons. Foxy is all over her calmly rubbing herself up against her or kissing all over her face. You can tell that the dogs know there is something different about [her] and they treat her with kindness and calmness. It's amazing to watch." |
